Margaret Turton

Wentworth Falls, Blue Mountains

This is a large piece, just over 1 metre high. The bowl of its tail is able to be used as a birdbath
- she looks great in the garden. The mermaid was handbuilt with white Raku clay,
all the shells on the tail were sprigs made from a shell mould.
The glaze is a vitreous slip glaze fired to 1040 degrees C.
